Folding the distance between us, until we meet again.
If time could be folded too, we could see each other again. All the pleats are indicative of all the time I missed you. In memory of the one I love most

Inception

Serenity 1
As I graduated from university, my longing for beauty made me feel certain that I wanted to pursue art, so I went to London to study fashion painting. At that time, I learned draping, life drawing, and was exposed to oil painting for a while, but it was not until I came into contact with leather that I really found a sense of belonging, and when I touched leather, it gave me endless inspirations, and I especially enjoyed the process of touching, kneading, and shaping the leather with my hands. So I plunged into the field of leather creation and joined a leather workshop as an apprentice, and started to create my own works outside of work.
Lacking educational background in this field allows me to think outside the box to create with very unconventional style. I would work with unexpected materials wherever I could find; even the curtains in my house became a theme of my creation.Playing with materials and the medium freely, like painting through leather, has embodied my bonds with my artist mother.

“Every bag is a work of art, and a classic work of art requires thought, passion, and time to create.”

Vision

Crafting with Passion

Preperation

For designer Grace, England is not only a childhood memory but also a springwell of inspirations. The famous Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A Museum) in London is Grace’s most frequent stop. Strolling from Hyde Park all the way to the V&A Museum and immersing in the cultural and aesthetic ambience of the city allows the cultural atmosphere of art and history to activate her creativities. Grace Han’s designs are deeply influenced by art and have established the brand’s unique design taste. The design language of each bag encompasses the trajectory of contemporary women’s lives, and the simple and elegant lines of the design constitute each woman’s rich and unique value.

The Himalayan collection

The pinnacle of Grace Han’s Creation in 2022

An extension of the Love Letter collection, this other line of rare leather bags features chosen matte leather, along with custom white and gold hardware and carefully selected trim colors to go with the classic Himalayan snow white to rock grey gradient leather, with specially dyed leather created by experienced craftsmen who combine rare leather and craftsmanship to create timeless bags that can be passed down through generations. The line of rare leather bag is a “portable work of art”, showcasing Grace Han’s exquisite craftsmanship, using flat and beveled cut at the overlapping parts to maintain a consistent thickness throughout. The leather is cut with a flat, beveled blade to maintain a uniform thickness, while retaining the supporting strength of the leather, the heaviness of of overlapping is reduced, and finally it is finely cut with a knife. Three to five coatings of edge oil are applied by hand to the cut side of the leather. Each coating is left to dry completely and then sandpapered before the next layer of coating is applied to achieve a smooth and saturated finish.

Creation of Her
three classic collections

Ballet Lesson

Ballet Lesson
The Ballet Lesson collection is Grace Han’s most iconic work collection. The classic pleated sheep leather with a metallic hem symbolizing the balance line is like the diffusing light at dawn, gathered along the composed and steady golden horizon.

The Ballet Lesson collection is the pinnacle of Grace Han’s aesthetics and craftsmanship, the inspiration of which comes from the designer Grace’s experience in watching ballet. Ballet dancers have been receiving rigorous training from a young age, and it takes years of hard work and preparation to perfectly master the essence of dance and demonstrate the beauty of elegant body lines and motions. Such beauty does not come from the outside, but is refined over time and radiates from the inside out, and the Ballet Lesson collection reflects this spirit with its unique design of leather pleating.

BUTTERFLY

Ballet Lesson
The Butterfly collection is a bold three-line reinterpretation of Grace Han’s classic pleated design, which abstracts and simplifies complex lines and inspired by the asymmetrical triangular lines of a butterfly’s wings. The unique double-layered flap design is a clever interpretation of a butterfly’s fluttering wings, and a symbol of a woman’s life journey of transformation.

When any woman is asked which memories shape her character the most, she is very likely to mention her first love, her first heartbreak, her first job, the moment she said “”I do””, or the brave step she took. Those past moments, trials and emotions have made her who she is now, growing and blossoming as she experiences new journeys, relationships and environments, and these unforgettable moments are what Grace, the designer, celebrates with her Butterfly Coll

Love Letter

Ballet Lesson
The Love Letter collection is inspired by the many forms carrying love that can be found between letters. The unique design of the envelope closure and the graceful contours of the curves resemble the light smiles from people receiving love letters.

Designer Grace is very close to her family and values that bond dearly. For her, love can take many forms; it can be pure, eternal, boundless and free of bias. Love exists in a lover’s kiss, a friend’s hug, and the care of a parent, but it also exists in the love we feel for ourselves. In these special moments, a calm and warm feeling surrounds us and gives us strength.

畫作之門

Flowing Down

Ms. Anita Wong

Grace’s designs are marked by elegance and harmony, characteristics inspired by her mother. At the venue, there are many walls on which river-like images are printed. These images are from the painting of Grace’s mother—Flowing Down. Anita Wong was an artist, specializing in painting and calligraphy. She also initiated Grace into art. Her influence is noticeable in Grace’s creations. Anita drew her inspiration from nature, capturing the beauty of scenery and life through brushstrokes, colors, and lines. She employed hues of gray, blue, and white as well as straight lines seeming to be dancing on the canvas.

Therefore, her paintings reflect a perfect harmony of movement and stillness, as seen in the real world. Contemplating her works, viewers can be reminded of their original goal, have a moment of introspection, and follow their heart.

Grey Fabric

In the fashion industry, customization is assuredly of paramount importance. To have a better understanding of the design, grey fabric is generally utilized in making the prototype. Every work of gray fabric demonstrates the designer’s initial creativity and motivation. The wall here showcases some of Grace Han’s handbags of grey fabric. In the center are three bags from the iconic collections: Ballet Lesson, Butterfly, and Love Letter. Anita’s painting is printed on the three bags, representing Grace’s memories of her mother as well as Grace’s original ideas as a fashion designer.

Princess Of Wales Zone

Kate Middleton

The Princess of Wales played a vital role in bringing Grace Han’s brand to the attention of international fashion circles. Not long after the London branch opened in 2019, a VIP turned up. A stylist for Buckingham Palace found Grace Han’s elegant designs appealing and recommended to the Princess the black Love Letter bag of calf leather. The bag later became the Princess’s invariable fashion accessory. She has made many public appearances wearing different styles of outfits in various colors together with the same bag.
